Laura has been designing as young as she can remember. At the age of 11, Laura was in the hospital for an extended period of time, and her Aunt Terry taught her how to crochet. Years later she explored making simple pieces of jewelry as well, and some high school friends still have jewelry pieces that she made way back when.
After high school, Laura earned a degree in Fashion Design from Oklahoma State University -GO POKES! She worked in the retail industry for awhile, until she left to start raising a family.
As her girls got older, Laura started making jewelry once again, BUT this time started crocheting with wire, which gave her quite a niche in the jewelry design industry. Through this skill, she became an Ambassador for Swarovski Crystals, and was asked to teach her designs to women all over the world. She taught on numerous cruises, would present product for Jewelry TV, and also has many designs that she presented on a PBS show called Beads, Baubles, and Jewels - which you can still find on You Tube under Laura Timmons. She was also the fashion editor for a magazine called
"Bead Unique".
After the design industry began shifting and declining, Laura changed directions and received her license in real estate. She is now semi- retired but truly loves serving people. Her motto: friends become clients, and clients become friends!
Laura still designs jewelry, but definitely on a more limited basis now. You can find some of her jewelry in Gallery V in Leawood, as well as The Old Mango in historic downtown Overland Park. Her website Vintage Moon Creations will always have a
few designs on it as well.
Today, Laura is focusing on time with her family once again - although growing in a different direction. Her babies are having babies!
Laura currently lives in Leawood, KS with her husband Jim, and their 3 mini Aussies: Isabella, Kahli, and Wendy. Creating this book has been such a joy, and she is looking forward to many new adventures in publishing.
Laura has been writing poems most of her life, but has never even thought about getting any of her pieces published, until now. Having two Grandloves in her life, has prompted her to create something just for them.

Most of the book was written through meditation and prayer. The next questions was - how to illustrate it. A dear friend suggested she create the illustrations somehow with yarn or weaving. With Laura being a crocheter for years, knew that was what she needed to do, and that is how the crocheted panels came to be.
Then the thought of publishing was daunting. She looked into many online publishers, and it was hard to know who to trust. She prayed, and asked God to just drop a publishing company in her lap - make it so obvious that this was the opportunity, that she would have to go for it!
This March, Laura was asked to participate in a mission trip to Africa. It was here, that she was talking to an amazing woman she had just met, each sharing their "bucket list" items. Once Laura told her about what she dreamed to do, the
friend said "Oh! I can make that happen - my family owns a publishing company" !
And so the book was born!
Creating this book, was a completion to a beautiful vision. It took time, faith, and effort - and of
course the support from her family and
friends to get it published.
Throughout this process, it has sparked a vision for so many more books!
At the back of the book, Laura has an excerpt from her next book "Look for the Hearts". Heart

At the back of the book, Laura has an excerpt from her next book "Look for the Hearts". Hearts are all around us, all you have to do is start looking! They are also little signs from your angels that they are watching over you:
If you look around you,
hearts are everywhere.
Keep you eyes and your hearts open,
and they will soon appear.
I usually see them when we go on a walk,
Sometimes I see them in the rocks.
Or trees can sometimes have hearts upon them.
So can leaves, one of nature's poems......
